For Veterans

I am a Veteran and proud to have served my country from 1966 to 1968.  I thought, “It has been so long after I served my country that I just don’t have any VA benefits”.

Well I was wrong and I wonder how many veterans think the same way.

I went by the VA Clinic at 322 S. Prewitt here in Nevada to check.  Sure enough I had many medical benefits that I should have been using for the past 40 years.

All veterans, I guess back to WW1 have at least these medical benefits:

Prescription drug coverage (I believe any prescription drug).  At only $8.00 per month.  You have to order three months at a time or they will give you a prescription and you can take it to the pharmacy of your choice.  If it is a generic drug that you can get for $4.00, they don’t care.

If you need to see a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner, make an appointment:  No charge!

If you need lab work, just make an appointment:  No charge!

If you want a flu shot, just make an appointment:  No charge!

If you need to go to the hospital: No charge!  The only drawback is you must go to Kansas City , to the VA hospital.

There are no deductibles or co-pay!  There is only the prescription drug charge.

All of the other medical benefits are Free to the Veteran that has served in the

United States Military for a period of at least two years and has been honorably

Discharged.  All you do is take a copy of your DD214 (separation papers)

to the VA Clinic here in Nevada to make sure you are qualified.  If you don't have

a copy,  they will find you in the computer, it just takes a little longer.

If you are a Veteran and are not using these benefits, you are

 wasting a lot of money!

I have saved hundreds no probably thousands of dollars after

going to the clinic.

Casa Azteca Mexican Restaurant

117 Centennial Blvd.

Nevada , MO

417 667-4771

Features authentic Mexican Cuisine in abundance!  The food is excellent and if you haven’t eaten there in a while, you need to try it again!  There have been some changes in the last year, that I can’t quite put my finger on, but they are definitely for the better!

My wife and I eat there when we get a chance and both believe this restaurant is better than any Mexican Restaurant in the Joplin area.  The only one that I feel has a step up is Manny’s Mexican Restaurant in Kansas City .

The food at Casa Azteca is prepared daily.  They have quick service with excellent servers.  There prices are very reasonable.  Casa Azteca has Gift Certificates available that can be purchased at the restaurant, purchased over the telephone with a credit card and picked up there or they can mail them to you.

Casa Azteca is open daily for lunch and dinner, with smoking and non-smoking areas.  There is a full service bar, happy hour, outdoor dining and catering available.  They accept all major credit cards.

Whether you live here, are passing through or you have a daughter attending Cottey College , you will be treated to a great dining experience with authentic Mexican music in the backround or you can watch your favorite team play on any of the big screen TV’s.

If there is a down side to this restaurant it is “Watch out for the ditches on the North and West side of the parking lot!"

Enjoy!
